About Me

My photo
"For God loved the world so much that He gave His one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life."--John 3:16...God's love is showered upon my little ones daily. I enjoy being a vessel through which His love flows to them. In submitting to the will of God, I became a dedicated Career Mom. This motherhood experience matures me as I walk with Christ. My prayer is that these God-inspired words would BLESS every reader. My husband and I have 8 children together. Our five youngest ones at home are 8 months, 3, 6, 9 and 11 years-young! Enjoy and share your thoughts!!

Talking Up a Sweat

Motherhood Memorial #2:

Another day in the life of Mommy Miriam...My five-year-old Abigail truly keeps me laughing all the day long.  Her vocabulary and the manner in which she puts words together makes for tear-dropping, on-your-knees laughter. And after a long and hard days work in career mommyhood, these moments of joy are like happy pills. Proverbs 17:22 (Amplified version) says, "A happy heart is good medicine and a cheerful mind works healing..." Perhaps all this joy and laughter keeps me healed and healthy.  Praise the Lord!  So, on a typical weekday evening, I am sitting listening to Abigail give me a somewhat lengthy monologue about... well... everything on her five-year-old mind.  And I ask her questions and give my, "Yes" and "Really," so that she knows I'm giving her my undivided attention. Then she says, "Mommy, wow, I'm so hot, I'm sweating." I reply, "Well, yes Abigail, it was all that talking!" And her response, "Yes, mommy. You must be right!" She surely talked herself into a sweat!!  And I giggled.

There's no judgment here...I am quite a conversationalist myself.  So, to all the talkers of the world... who are quite content with monologuing for hours on end... I meditate James 1:19 to help me become a better listener, so my talkative daughter (and others like her) can have the privilege of my attentive ears and mind. The scripture says: "Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger."

So, if you feel yourself perspiring while conversing at length...perhaps you'll remember James 1:19.

Until the next MM...Warrior-Priest-Queen Miriam

Mini-me

[My disclaimer: I truly enjoy motherhood...and in this career...it's not about me.] Now, with that said, as a young adult, I would frequently tell my friends that I desired to have a "mini-me." You know, a child who was just like me, just a younger, smaller version. I thought it was a funny, even a cute request. Not knowing the power of my words...it's years later and I now have a 5 year-old who has somehow developed into...well...you guessed it...my "mini-me." It's so precious; she loves me soooo much. She watches my every move and mimics me. She repeats my every word. Looking at her is like looking at a mirror and seeing my reflection. Now I understand why God said that it takes faith to please Him (Hebrews 11:6). God desires that we mimic His every word and His every action. If our Daddy used faith to create everything, would it not please Him that we use faith to create, to bring heaven into the earth. Having grown up a little in my spiritual walk with the Lord, I now desire that my children develop into a mini-He...God that is. It is written in Psalm 82:6 Amplified, "I said, You are gods; indeed, all of you are children of the Most High." I simply desire that my little babies mature into their Father Almighty...thinking like Him...speaking like Him...enjoying Heaven like Him, even while they are living in the earth. Until the next MM... In Christ's Love, Warrior-Priest-Queen Miriam
